ASCEM, BTE's concrete technology centre, collaborated with the production employees of BTE company De Meteoor on the development of a more sustainable concrete mix for sleepers. This resulted in a concrete mix with a lower Environmental Cost Indicator value than the standard NS 90 sleeper. The sleepers are an innovation from De Meteoor and are being sold on the Dutch market from this year onwards. These sustainable sleepers can be identified by the four-leaf clover label on the top of the sleeper.
