All BTE locations are CSC certified. The CSC quality mark guarantees the sustainable production of concrete. Companies are only allowed to use this quality mark if they meet strict requirements concerning reliability, expertise, sustainability and occupational safety. The CSC quality mark provides assurance that the concrete has been made sustainably.
De Meteoor in Rheden and De Hamer in Nijmegen, Heumen and Waspik are ISO 9001 certified. ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems. De Hamer in Nijmegen, Heumen and Waspik, Steenhuis in Uithuizermeeden and Vebo in Bunschoten are ISO 14001 certified: the international standard for environmental management systems.
De Hamer's locations in Nijmegen, Heumen and Waspik are certified for the CO2 Performance Ladder (level 3). The CO2 Performance Ladder has been developed to promote conscious action and thus reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Incidentally, a CO2 footprint is made every year for all BTE locations.
All BTE companies together have more than 50 KOMO product certificates; each KOMO product certificate declares that the product concerned (raw materials, auxiliary materials, construction products), construction element or construction system corresponds to the technical specification included in the certificate and meets the requirements stated in the certificate and/or assessment guideline.
BTE has achieved step 1 of the Social Entrepreneurship Performance Ladder (in Dutch Prestatieladder Socialer Ondernemen or PSO). This includes all BTE locations. BTE is one of the few concrete factories that has achieved this step. We really stand out in that regard. The PSO is a scientifically substantiated measurement and registration instrument and a quality mark of TNO that provides insight into the extent to which organisations do more than average socially, aimed at the labour participation of vulnerable groups in the labour market; social return on investment (SROI).
We feel responsible for SROI - everyone counts! In addition to our convictions, our desire to have our policy tested and formalised and to start the PSO certification process was also based on government tenders. SROI comes into play as an obligation, especially for assignments outsourced by the government. As a contractor, you must demonstrate that you invest in your social contribution. Getting certified demonstrates your social investment.
